MXO Matrix Online is a MMORPG based on the Matrix trilogy. At first it may seem like a risky venture. I mean honestly, how many games based on movies actually turn out to be good? Well the numbers are increasing, but no more than half of games based on movies actually turn out to be any good. But there is some hope for Matrix Online. Monolith Productions asked the Wachowski brothers to help with the development. This means that the game is likely to maintain the original thrill and excitement of the movie trilogy. So what makes Matrix Online different from other MMORPGs on the increasingly crowded market? Well it has loads of unique features such as the much anticipated Bullet Time and hyper jumping. Characters start out as humans newly freed from the matrix, known as ¡®redpills¡¯. Although players will have to do missions for Zion at the beginning, later on they will be able to accept missions from all three major factions; Zionites, Machines and Exiles. And for those of you who don¡¯t remember the Exiles, they¡¯re the ones headed by the French ¡®Merovingian¡¯. This allows players to choose their allegiance, or simply play as a free agent. Of course players with differing allegiances might try to kill you, but hey that¡¯s all part of the fun right? Players will level through gaining experience, which will in turn be gained through missions, killing NPCs and a variety of other ways which are unique to Matrix Online.
