City of Villains City of Villains is the sequel to the award winning Massively Multiplayer Online RPG, City of Heroes. Developed and released by NCSoft, City of Villains reverses the role of the player from a typical hero, to a sinister villain. Taking a refreshing approach to a often repeated genre, CoV dares to explore the mind sets of evil-doers, their super-powers, and the motivations behind their schemes. Even more, subscribers of City of Villains have access to an online digital comic book courtesy of NCSoft. The stories that unfold in the comic follow those within the game, adding to the sense of immersion and enjoyment. Following the footsteps of City of Heroes, CoV allows the player to create and personalize their very own villain to fight for dominance and status on The Rogue Isles. Players experience their adventures in completing missions and tasks for Non-Player Characters (NPCs) located throughout the Isles. These missions spawn personalized instances that the player may complete solo, or with a group of fellow villains. Completing tasks increases the character’s Infamy and gains him or her Experience to advance in levels and learn new super powers. Power-up rewards allows characters to increase the strength and effectiveness of their super abilities, making them deadlier with each new gift and item awarded (or taken!). Experience combat with fellow villains who seek to wrest control of the Isles, or stand against bothersome heroes and their supporters attempting to overthrow Lord Recluse in their misguided war against evil, all the while gaining power and prestige for yourself. Advancement can be a slow process, but the rewards are undeniable.
